Why did we start paperman?

Because walking into your local bank usually means limited options and a lot of head-nodding with very little help. Banks can only offer their own loan products - and if you don’t fit the mould, you’re often sent on your way with a polite “no.”

Our founder knows this story well. After years of going back and forth with banks and getting nowhere, everything changed when he finally worked with a broker. That moment sparked paperman: a brokerage built on choice, straight talk, trust, and discretion.

He’s that person - the one talking property at BBQs, checking interest rates at the dinner table, and getting calls from friends when it’s time to negotiate a house or car purchase. Always wheeling, dealing, and quietly running numbers in his head. With 10 years at Commonwealth Bank and investing in Australian property since 2008, he brings both big-bank knowledge and real-world experience to the table.

Over the past 15 years, he’s purchased, leased, sold, renovated, and built residential and commercial properties. That hands-on experience means he truly understands property, assets, and lending - and just how personal this is. At paperman, discretion and trust aren’t buzzwords; they’re non-negotiable.
